August 26, 2026    6:00 PM - Meeting called to order – those present were Ron, Vicky, Linda and Laura. Mason our VP was out of town.

Unfinished business from previous meeting was discussed. Signatures needed at Kitsap Bank by the new officers and Mason is aware there is a signature still needed by him and indicated in a text he will take care of this matter upon his return. In addition a third trustee needs to be nominated. Discussed briefly regarding the alumni email list and whether we will continue to use Outlook or something else. Ron is to schedule time to meet with the Superintendent regarding a topic that the Super wanted to discuss. PENDING

New Business

Valley Tavern has been reserved for October 17, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. for the Bacon Bingo.

Alan Hinds offered to call Bingo. Discussed setting up two tables close to front door; one to sell Bingo cards and the other to sell raffle tickets. Laura talked about how she goes about getting the bacon, eggs and muffins. Ron suggested putting a notice out on Facebook for much needed help for this fundraiser. At the next meeting we will discuss who wants to be in charge for getting donations and discuss doing a silent auction as well as a live auction. We may not do the 50/50 raffle and instead hold that for the Spring Bacon Bingo. Mason texted the officers regarding selling t-shirts and doing an early bird discount for the Alumni Dinner to get people signed up. This was tabled for the time being due to the cost of the t-shirts and not knowing how much the dinner charge will be at this time.

At length we discussed the Alumni Scholarships. The Chimacum Scholarship Committee will continue to review the senior portfolios to select which seniors will receive a scholarship. It was agreed at this meeting in addition to the Scholarship Committee that the Alumni officers will review before a final decision is selected. There are guidelines to follow when selecting the recipient for the Chimacum Alumni Scholarship and we want to be sure that it is followed per the Alumni bylaws.

Our next meeting will be September 17, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. at the Valley Tavern. All those that can attend, please do. We need HELP to make the Bacon Bingo a success!
